Representative's Greeting

Why did I start "Sōmori-dō"?

I was baptized into the Catholic Church when I was young.

I seriously considered becoming a priest and even wished to follow a monastic path.

There is something the bishop taught me around that time.

"Love without expecting results."

"You should make a loss for the sake of others."

Being young, I didn't fully understand its meaning.

However, looking back on my life, I feel that those words have always lived on deep within my heart.

Eventually, I chose the path of starting a company rather than becoming a priest.

And strangely enough, I was always drawn to work related to "water."

Groundwater.

Spring water.

purification.

circulation.

Before I knew it, my life had always been intertwined with water.

Along the way, I also had the opportunity to connect with shrines and Shinto priests.

I have visited many shrines dedicated to water deities, including Niukawakami Shrine, and offered numerous prayers.

During difficult times, I may have relied solely on divine intervention.

Even so, looking back, I've been helped many times.

There were times when I didn't have enough money.

However, strangely enough, I was given everything I needed, and I was blessed with wonderful connections with people.

I've lived my life supported by something invisible.

That's how I feel.

Subsequently, water treatment technology became a major business.

Eventually, this evolved into natural energy air conditioning that utilizes the heat from groundwater.

Over more than ten years of research and verification, with the cooperation of many people,

That technology has now gained recognition from society.

However, I am by no means a good manager.

I preferred creating new things to expanding the company.

There were also successes.

There were failures as well.

Having acquired 500,000 tsubo of land in Aizu,

I once tried to create a utopia called the Elemental Life Community.

There are springs, waterfalls, fish swimming, people learning, working, and soaring out into the world.

I had been dreaming of a place like that.

However, that dream never came true.

Now that I'm in my seventies, I've finally realized this.

God is not only present in this vast world.

They exist even in small worlds.

What I wanted to achieve on 500,000 tsubo (approximately 1.65 million square meters) could perhaps be started in the world of just one tatami mat.

And that's how this little forest was born.

There is water underground.

There are plants.

Lilies are blooming.

The sacred sakaki tree grows here.

My daughter carried the soil, and my wife entrusted me with the wood.

It changes little by little each day, and becomes richer little by little.

I didn't create this forest as an air conditioning system.

To revitalize the forest.

The process of plants growing.

The circulation of water.

To enrich life.

As a result, the air conditioning also helps.

It soothes people too.

That's what I think.

A machine begins to deteriorate the moment it is completed.

But Mori is different.

We'll be wealthier a year from now.

She will be even more beautiful two years from now.

In ten years, it will be a completely different forest.

I have this

"Air conditioning that grows with you"

"Air conditioning for living"

That's what we call it.

And I have one more wish.

It means that cultivating this forest itself becomes a job, supporting the lives of many people.

You don't need a large factory or massive capital.

We love nature, cultivate plants, cherish water, and deliver it to people.

It's a world where such work is a means of making a living.

The Bible says,

"Look at the lilies in the field."

"Look at the birds in the sky."

There is a saying that goes like this:

Nature does not boast of itself; it simply lives the life it has been given.

I find that to be a profound learning experience.

Humans, too,

We can work in harmony with nature, live in harmony with nature, and become prosperous in harmony with nature.

I believe so.

Somorido is

It is a path that nurtures forests, a path that nurtures people, and a path that nurtures ways of life.

The world that begins in this small forest,

To heal someone's heart, to become someone's hope,

And I hope it will be passed down to future generations.

Eitaro Kimura

Aqua Green Eternal Co., Ltd. Representative Director

For many years, I have been involved in research and development of water treatment technology, groundwater utilization technology, and renewable energy air conditioning.

Focusing on the potential of groundwater, we have been developing a wide range of technologies, from water purification to heat utilization.

We have been working to demonstrate and implement energy-saving technologies in various fields such as livestock facilities, factories, and warehouses, and are pursuing the creation of a sustainable environment that utilizes the power of nature.

Currently, she advocates "Sōmori-dō" (the Way of Creating Forests) and is exploring ways of living where forests and people can grow together.

Our Philosophy

Nature is not something to be conquered, but rather something to live with.

Groundwater and forests have existed long before we humans, quietly supporting life for generations.

We aim to learn from nature and utilize its power to create technologies that are kind to both people and the environment.

Instead of solely pursuing efficiency,

To enrich life.

To create a comfortable living environment for people.

Things that can be passed on to the future.

I cherish that.

What I'm currently working on

Currently, based on groundwater utilization technology, direct gas-liquid heat exchange technology, and radiant heating and cooling technology,

We are working to promote the widespread use of renewable energy air conditioning in livestock facilities, factories, warehouses, and other similar establishments.

Also, set in a small forest he created at his home,

Plant transpiration

Soil heat storage

Water cycle

Natural cooling function

I continue to observe and record this on a daily basis.

This initiative continues to develop as the "Forest Air Conditioning Project."

Thoughts for the future

I once dreamed of a grand utopia.

But now, I believe that dream will begin in a small forest.

What happens in a forest the size of a single tatami mat?

This is something that is happening in forests all over the world.

A system that allows both people and nature to thrive.

Harmony between natural energy and daily life.

A community that grows together with the forest.

The Somori Road is the name of a long journey for that purpose.

It's not finished yet.

I would like to continue learning and walking alongside the forest in the future.
